Tuscany tours

You will begin this panoramic tour of Florence from one of its most breathtaking outlooks, Piazzale Michelangelo. In addition to offering a spectacular view of the city, this gorgeous piazza boasts one of two copies of Michelangelo’s famous David. Here our guide will give you a brief orientation of the city, introducing you to the major players in her stunning skyline. Next you will head to San Miniato, described as one of the finest Romanesque structures in Tuscany. Sitting atop one of the highest points in the city, San Miniato is certainly one of the most scenic churches in Italy. From here we’ll take you into the city’s center where you’ll explore the lovely Santa Maria Novella and her magnificent interior adorned by the likes of Botticelli, Bronzino, Lippi, Ghirlandaio (assisted by several apprentices, including a young Michelangelo) and many more. The tour also includes a visit to San Lorenzo, the parish church of the powerful and influential Medici family, as well as, the adjacent Medici Chapels. With their sumptuous interiors of marble, precious stonework, and exquisite frescoes, these structures are as grand as the family for whom they were built, and you’ll explore every corner while our guide recounts the stories of their legendary artists and patrons.
